The Almenara golf course is situated in the “Urbanización de Sotogrande” residential estate, on the shores of the Mediterranean, so the views are magnificent.

The course consists of 27 holes, where the designer and player Dave Thomas has created a real challenge for the skilful golfer, with undulating fairways and deep bunkers.

Almenara is a fine course which requires intelligence and accuracy. The most notable features of the course are the proliferation of water and the three very distinct rounds. The first part runs past a wooded area which is characteristic of Sotogrande, the second runs through a more open area where there is a spectacular lake, and the third stretch contains some of the most impressive tees in Europe and also runs past a series of big lakes, so you will enjoy very different scenery on each set of nine holes.

This course is a course for thinkers, and you will need to plan ahead carefully before driving off.
